Albanian RC preparing for PCD
The Albanian RC started preparing an application for pilot PCD in two branches in Albania.

The overall objective: To contribute to the reduction of the vulnerability and social discrimination of the Roma population in Albania
The specific objective: The objective of the PCD programme is to contribute to the empowerment of the Roma community within their environment and make them capable to raise their voice and to improve their living condition through participation and community action.
The application should be finalized latest in the beginning of August.

PCD Training in Albania
PCD_Tr_TiranaFrom 13 to 16 March 2007 a PCD training was carried on in Tirana with branch secretaries, staff and volunteers from 7 branches of the Albanian Red Cross.

Facilitators:

Peter Yovkov (Regional PCD Coordinator, IFRC Budapest)
Shpend Emini (Programme Coordinator, IFRC Delegation Kosovo)
Xhilda Nushi (OD and Finance Coordinator, Albanian Red Cross)
Zhaneta Xhelili (Social Care and Tracing Coordinator, Albanian Red Cross)

Very warm athmosphere, strong team spirit.

The workshop focused on the Red Cross work and PCD methodology as a set of principles, approaches and tools, supporting the organization to get closer to beneficiaries, to transfer the initiative to the vulnerable people, establish partnerships and boost community development processes.
